About Us

Boy Scout Troop 121 is a strong troop that has been part of the Mansfield community for over sixty years. Troop 121's sponsoring organization, St. Peter's Catholic Church, situated near downtown Mansfield, has been a long supporter of the Boy Scout program and enjoys helping the youth of today become the leaders of tomorrow.  The troop has 24 scouts ranging from eleven to eighteen years old.

Who we are:

We participate in Academic Challenge, Mock Trial, and the Science Fair.  We are in marching band, pep band, and school plays.  We are members of teams for cross country, swimming, football, golf, rugby, track, and baseball.  We are named on our school honors rolls and have received recognition for academic excellence.  We are leaders on out school Student Council and participate in many honorary clubs and activities.

How we serve:

We are involved in many service projects throughout the year:

  • Memorial Day: Participated in place (and later removing) flags on veterans' graves at Mansfield Memorial Cemetery.
  • Built a nature trail at Malabar Intermediate School
  • Constructed bridges and trail at the Ohio Bird Sanctuary
  • Laid out and built an exercise area for dogs at Richland Country Humane Society
  • Coordinated a Sock Drive to benefit the New Store
  • Erected flag poles at St. Peter's Spartan Field
  • Our members volunteer for Big Brothers, at The Ohio Bird Sanctuary, and as servers at Mansfield St. Peter's Church

What we do:

  • Monthly campouts: Rock climbing, Cooking Campout, Rifle and Shotgun, Klondike Derby (tent camping outside in January!), snowshoeing, tobogganing, hiking, and a Family Campout
  • Fundraising: clean-up at Norwalk Raceway, parking duty at the Richland County Fairgrounds, popcorn sale, and bake sales.
  • Merit Badge Day

  • Kelley's Island
  • High Adventure camp at The Summit Bechtel Reserve near The New River Gorge, West Virginia
